Remco is a New York-based cinematographer originally from the Netherlands, with over 20 years of experience in shooting documentaries and commercial projects. Known for his skillful use of Cinema Verité hand-held techniques, natural lighting, and strong storytelling abilities, he creates visuals that are both beautiful and raw. His career began at a young age when he left school to pursue photography. Later in life, he honed his cinematography and editing skills under the mentorship of a renowned Dutch filmmaker. Remco's work often focuses on socio-economic issues and cause-driven content, capturing the human experience with authenticity and empathy.
Having lived, worked, and traveled extensively around the globe. He thrives in various environments, from the largest cities to the most desolate regions, always seeking to break down barriers and reveal deeper truths through his work. Remco describes himself as a naturalistic filmmaker with a keen eye for lighting and textures, and while he enjoys experimenting with different genres, he is particularly drawn to projects that offer a raw, unfiltered look at the world.
